| Description | A befriender is someone who regurarly visits a person with a physical disability for a weekly chat and cup of tea. As a volunteer you will be helping to alleviate the loneliness and isolation which is felt by many people. Causeway Befrienders need volunteer befrienders to support people in the local area who are housebound or socially isolated through disability. The range of disabiltiies may include people with restricted mobility, arthritis, MS, brain Injury, sight impairment etc. The time commitment for this role is 1 - 2 hours per week. Full training, support and volunteers expenses are provided. |
