If you are an organisation that involves volunteers, chances are that you are aiming to give the volunteer an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. In order to do this you may have realised that there is a certain amount of organisation and structure involved in managing volunteers – how do you organise insurance for them? What about expenses? How will the volunteer know how to deal with problems if they arise? What do you do for the volunteer to acknowledge the contribution they have made to your group?
At some point, all volunteer involving organisations will have asked these questions. This resource section attempts to answer some of these questions and also to give organisations information and guidance on the recruitment, selection and management of their volunteers. Further more detailed guidance is available from the Volunteer Centre.
