Junior Youth Group Assistant (The Hub West Bann)
ColeraineThe Hub is funded through IFI and aims to increase community engagement and sharing to improve relationships and encourage good will between communities. We provide various programmes which include skills building, trips, fun days and workshops designed to support greater cultural understanding through learning and engagement with each other.
Role Description:
You will be working with under 10-14 year olds to help deliver new and exciting programmes like My Future Self. As a volunteer you will be helping these young people develop vital skills that prepare them for the years ahead. This opportunity will suit you if you are interested in working with young people, learning leadership skills and having fun. It will also be useful in developing skills that will prepare you for teaching, youth work, group work or any number of community or leadership roles.
Main tasks:
- To help set up room before the members arrive and after they leave
- Meet and greet members
- Take registration
- Encourage young people to take part
- Ensure fair play
- Have fun
- Supervise on trips and activity days.
Desirable skills and experience:
This post will most likely appeal to someone who is comfortable in directing play and who enjoys being with young people
Location of opportunity: Coleraine
Days/times when volunteer is required:Monday and every other Tuesday 4-6pm and 6.30 - 8.30 pm
